Yves Marchand

These photographs are just beautiful! i think i am going to look more into this derelict theme for my summer project. even though there is nothing like this where i live im going to look at abandoned bulidings and wall posters that have been just left and so have been ripped and are worn down.

These beautiful photographs are of old American theatres and derelict buildings, everything in them looks so fragile and to me has such a mysterisous story behind them. i would love to find a building in such conditions and work out the story and why it was all left so suddenly. i use to live next to an old detention centre that had been abandoned and me and my sister went a few times but there was very little left and most of doors were locked! so not much excitment there.

Andrew Brooks

Andrew Brooks is a Manchester based photographer and currently has an exhibition at the Urbis, firstly these photographs are amazing, these images don't do them justice, they are so vibrant and on a much bigger scale, so if you get a chance to go see it, you must.

This really is one of the most amazing exhibitions i have been to, the photographs are so powerful and unbelievably vibrant. i was amazed how he got the effect, at first i thought a pin hole camera or film processing, but i later looked on his website and his creative process often results in capturing hundreds of images to create a complete work. Then, a meticulously developed sequence of cut, paste and rebuilding, moulding a new scene from his own vividly re-imagined viewpoint that is consistent, yet also a parallel with that of the perceived reality it represents.

This Photograph is by Gudni Einarsson, as well as having the context of wire i am aiming for this style photograph, black and white with a higher contrast that almost looks rustic and aged.

Elizabeth Soule

Elizabeth Soule is a Photogrpaher, her work is mainly shot with Ploaroid cameras and she seems to use toy horses a lot. but i came across there and though they were amazing, very simple photogrpahs with the 3D type, i especially like the top left as it would deffinantly make me smile if they were taking my photograph. she has done some other 3D type photographs if you look on her Flickr.

Photography Elective

These are a few photos from my Digital Photography Elective, my part time job is decorating cards for a small card company called Wendy Jones-Blackett, so the past few weeks iv been photograhing the cards in the process from decorating to packaged up. They are all Macro photography and in the final book they will be squared of and full bleed of the page. iv tried not to manipulate them much on photoshop but as i got a new camera half way through it took me a while to get use to the different settings and some came out too dark or to bright but hopefully the difference in unnoticable now.
